Texas Longhorns: The End of A Rivalry
In this Instant Classic Justin Tucker kicked a 40-yard field goal as time expired to give the Longhorns a 27- 25 victory over Texas A&M. The Longhorns and their first-year defensive coordinator, Manny Diaz, had the defensive strategy to give the offense one last attempt to bring home the victory. Quarterback, Case McCoy was ready and stepped into the brightest of spotlights, taking his team 48 yards on seven plays, scrambling for 25 of those, to set up the game- winning field goal on the longest drive of the night. Texas A&M’s last Big 12 game and the 118th meeting between the conference rivals before the Aggies depart for the Southeastern Conference next season was a thriller befitting one of college football’s oldest and most storied matchups.
