1994 Kentucky vs. LSU Game- The Mardi Gras Miracle
This game is the greatest comeback in Kentucky Basketball--The Mardi Gras Miracle! It was a tale of two halves. In the first half of its game against the LSU Tigers, Kentucky played about as poorly as it could play. Nothing went right for the Cats as their starters scored only 9 points in the first half. At the same time LSU looked unstoppable as they blocked shots and poured in three-pointers from everywhere; lighting the Wildcats up with 68% shooting from the field and a 48-32 lead. LSU continued the deluge early in the second half going on an 18 - 0 run to build a 68-37 lead.
Looking at a 31-point hole it would have been easy for Kentucky to pack it in, but instead they put together the greatest comeback in collegiate basketball history. Coach Rick Pitino looked to his bench for some fire and found it in Gimel Martinez, Jeff Brassow and Walter McCarty. Everything that had gone right for LSU early deserted the Tigers as Kentucky found it's range from 3-point land and outscored LSU 62-27 in the final 15:34 to win 99-95. This DVD contains the complete 1994 Kentucky vs. LSU game, with coverage from NBC Sports, without commercial interruption, presented in fullscreen (1.33:1) digital video.
